The Academiae Obscuriae Book Club invites you once again to step into the depths of Dark Academia — where literature meets the strange, the intellectual, and the unknown.
In our next meeting, we’ll dive into The Most Secret Memory of Men, by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr — a hypnotic novel about literary obsession, identity, and the way certain books seem to contain entire lives within their pages. From the moment a young writer stumbles upon the trace of a “cursed” masterpiece and its vanished author, the story opens into a labyrinth of voices, memories, and secrets: what does literature reveal… and what does it conceal?
Led by Joana Bryant-Jorge, this session will explore the mirror-game between author and work, the feverish pursuit of meaning that is never fully surrendered, and the novel’s dense atmosphere — at once erudite and unsettling — that makes it an unforgettable experience for readers who love to think, question, and lose themselves in the deeper layers of fiction. An afternoon of intense conversation, coffee, and pages that linger long after the book is closed.
